7th International Staff Week
The 7th Erasmus+ International Staff Week, organized by the Sivas Cumhuriyet University International Relations Office,will be held in Sivas, Türkiye, between 12–16 October 2026. The event will bring together selected academic and administrative staff from partner institutions within the scope of Erasmus+ KA171 staff mobility.

About
What is the International Staff Week?
International Staff Week is an event that brings together staff members from different universities, colleges and institutions from around the world to share knowledge, experiences and best practices. It is one of the most important internationalization activities of Sivas Cumhuriyet University.
The International Staff Week provides an excellent opportunity for participants to network with colleagues from different parts of the world, learn about new cultures, gain a fresh perspective on their work and experience teaching or training in a foreign context.
During the event, there are workshops, seminars and presentations focusing on different topics related to higher education, such as internationalisation, intercultural communication and student mobility. The program also includes cultural and social events, city tours, museum visits and dinners.

Programme
The programme includes opening and closing sessions, seminars, cultural visits, teaching/training activities, institutional meetings and social activities.
Day 1
October 12, 2026, Monday
Opening Ceremony, Campus and City Orientation
09.00 – 10.00
Opening Ceremony at 4 Eylül Culture Center, registrations, introductory video of Sivas Cumhuriyet University, opening speech by Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet ŞENGÖNÜL, University & City Presentation by Event Coordinator Lect. Emre SEVEN and photo session.
10.00 – 11.00
Visit to the University History Museum. The museum displays documents, items, publications, photographs and artwork reflecting the institutional history of Sivas Cumhuriyet University.
10.00 – 11.00
Visit to the Natural History Museum. The museum includes geological and biological specimens, minerals, rocks, fossils and interactive displays.
11.00 – 12.00
Visit to Kangal Dog Research Centre. The centre aims to promote the breeding of Kangal dogs under appropriate conditions and to preserve this important local breed.
12.00 – 13.00
Tour at Hasbahçe Lake and MiniaSivas. Participants visit the artificial lake located on the campus and the miniature replicas of historical buildings in Sivas.
13.00 – 14.00
Lunch with traditional flavours from Sivas and Turkish cuisine. The lunch provides participants with an opportunity to experience local culinary culture.
14.00 – 15.00
Tour at Hamidiye Park and visit to The War Horses Museum. Participants visit one of the important cultural sites of Sivas and learn about the historical role of horses in Turkish and global cultures.
15.00 – 17.00
City orientation in the historic city square including Buruciye Madrasa, Şifaiye Madrasa, Double Minaret Madrasa, Kale Mosque, Sivas Ulu Mosque and Gökmedrese Museum.
Day 2

Seminar, Grant Procedures and International Lunch

Intercultural Communication Seminar by Lect. Emre SEVEN.
10.00 – 12.00
Receiving Erasmus+ grants at the VakıfBank unit located on campus. Participants will complete the relevant banking procedures related to their Erasmus+ mobility grants.
12.00 – 17.00
International Lunch at the Erasmus+ Office. Participants will come together in an informal intercultural setting to share food, experiences and cultural traditions and to strengthen communication and cooperation among partner institutions.
Day 3
14 October 2026, Wednesday
Teaching and Training Activities
09.00 – 17.00
Teaching and training activities at the relevant academic and administrative units. Participants will carry out the activities specified in their Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Agreements and meet with their host departments and units at Sivas Cumhuriyet University.
Day 4
October 15, 2026, Thursday
Divriği Cultural Excursion
Full-Day Programme
Cultural excursion to Divriği, including visits to Divriği Great Mosque and Hospital, Divriği Canyon and the Divriği Observation Terrace. The programme will provide participants with an opportunity to discover the historical, architectural and natural heritage of the Divriği district of Sivas.

16 October 2026, Friday
Institutional Closing Meeting and Farewell Programme
09.00 – 12.00
Closing meeting at the Rectorate Senate Hall under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Süleyman DEĞİRMEN, Vice Rector responsible for International Relations. The meeting will include an overall evaluation of the 7th International Staff Week, participant feedback, institutional cooperation discussions and closing remarks.
13.00 – 17.00
Closing programme at the Erasmus+ Office, including participant reflections, final evaluations, informal networking and commemorative photo session.

A shuttle bus service has been arranged for participants' convenience.
Shuttle Service
The shuttle service will be available on 11 October 2026 to transport participants from the airport to the gathering point in the city centre. Throughout the event, from 12 to 16 October 2026, the shuttle bus will also be available each morning to transport participants from the pick-up point to the International Relations Office.
Airport to City Centre
Participants who cannot make it to Sivas on Sunday, 11 October 2026, can use the airport bus service to get to the city centre. HAVAŞ buses and Municipality buses are available for flights.
Municipality Bus
Municipality airport bus service is available for transportation from Sivas Airport to the city centre.
HAVAŞ Bus
HAVAŞ airport bus service is available for participants arriving at Sivas Airport.
Culture
Sivas Cuisine
Meat, cereals and dairy products are important in Sivas cuisine. Winter preparations and local herbs, especially dımak, have a significant place in the culinary culture of the city.
Sivas cuisine reflects a rich culinary culture extending from the Ottoman period to the present day. Registered Sivas meatballs, Sivas kebab with vegetables, Sivas meat bread, pescutan soup, pezik pickles, masımak, Divriği pilaf, hurma dessert, katmer and other local flavors are among the prominent examples of this culinary heritage.
Sivas Meatballs
A registered local flavor of the city, prepared traditionally with minced meat and salt.
Peskütan Soup
A regional soup prepared with pescutan yoghurt, cracked wheat and green lentils.
Madımak
A famous local herb used in many traditional dishes of Sivas.
Divriği Pilaf
A historic rice pilaf associated with the culinary traditions of Divriği.
Ply
A registered traditional flaky pastry of Sivas, often consumed at breakfast and tea times.
Kazan Simidi and Oven Bun
Traditional bakery products of Sivas, commonly consumed at breakfast and tea times.
Sivas Meat Bread
One of the local flavors associated with the culinary culture of Sivas.
