In study mobility programs, host higher education institutions may offer students university dormitories or other accommodation options. However, whether such options are available, their capacity, and application requirements are determined by the respective institution.
In internship mobility programs, the internship institution is not obligated to provide accommodation, so students need to research accommodation options separately. In staff mobility programs, accommodation arrangements are handled by the staff themselves.

How to Arrange Accommodation?
The accommodation arrangements will vary depending on whether the mobility is for study, internship, or staff mobility.
Studies Mobility
For students accepted into study mobility programs, by the host higher education institution Student dormitories or other accommodation options may be offered.
- It should be checked whether the host university has dormitory facilities for incoming Erasmus+ students.
- It should be noted that applications for accommodation can be submitted on a separate date from the mobility application.
- University dormitories may have limited capacity.
- If dormitory accommodation is unavailable or full, students should explore alternative accommodation options.
Traineeship Mobility
In Erasmus+ internship mobility, the company, university, laboratory or other host organization where the internship will be carried out provides the participant with information. There is no obligation to provide accommodation.
- You can ask the internship organization if they can help with accommodation.
- The host organization may make suggestions, but should not be expected to provide accommodation.
- Students should research and arrange their own accommodation before the mobility period begins.
- For long-term internships, total monthly costs and transportation options should be considered together.
Staff Mobility
Staff participating in teaching or training mobility will provide accommodation for the duration of their mobility. He/she makes the decisions and handles the reservation process himself/herself.
- Information regarding suitable areas or accommodation types can be requested from the host organization.
- Organizations hosting events or Staff Weeks can submit suggested accommodation areas.
- Travel time, event location, and daily transportation options should be evaluated before making a reservation.
- It is the staff's responsibility to monitor reservation, payment, and cancellation terms and conditions.

Accommodation Options of the Host University
When researching accommodation for study mobility, it is recommended to begin by examining the facilities offered by the host higher education institution.
University Dormitory
Some higher education institutions may allocate places in their own dormitories for incoming Erasmus+ students or offer the possibility of applying for student dormitories.
Students should check the application deadline, fees, deposit, check-in and check-out dates, room type, and cancellation conditions directly with the host institution.
Situation where no accommodation is available
If the host institution does not have dormitory facilities, if the quota is full, or if the student does not prefer the dormitory option, accommodation must be arranged separately by the student.
In this case, information about safe areas and general accommodation options can be requested from the host institution's International Office, Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator, or student support unit.

The decision should not be based solely on accommodation costs; location, transportation, total cost, contract terms, and security conditions should be considered together.

The distance to the university, internship institution, or the location where the mobility activity will take place should be investigated.

Factors such as public transport options, daily commute times, and nighttime transport should be considered.
Total Cost
In addition to the monthly or daily fee, you should find out if there are any extra costs such as a deposit, energy, internet, cleaning, etc.
Agreement
The duration of stay, payment terms, deposit refund, and cancellation policies should be carefully reviewed before making a payment.

Types of Accommodation to Consider
Depending on the country and city you're visiting, different types of accommodation can be considered.
University / Student Dormitories
Student dormitories offered or recommended by the host university can be considered, especially for academic mobility.
Private Student Accommodation
Students may consider private dormitories, rooms, or similar long-term accommodation options.
Room/Apartment for Rent
Single rooms, shared accommodation, or self-catering options can be explored based on the duration of your stay.
Shared Accommodation
Sharing accommodation options with other students or participants can reduce the total cost.
Short-Term Accommodation
Staff mobility, BIP (Building Initiative) and short-term activities can be evaluated as short-term options suitable for the mobility duration.
Temporary Initial Accommodation
If long-term accommodation is not yet confirmed, a temporary accommodation plan for the first few days can be arranged and an on-site investigation can be conducted.

The Erasmus+ Institutional Coordination Office does not make accommodation reservations on behalf of participants; it is not a party to any contract, reservation, or payment process between the accommodation provider and the participant.
In study mobility programs, application processes for dormitory or accommodation facilities offered by the host university are handled directly by the relevant institution.
