Does the Unit/Department Coordinator handle the student nomination process themselves?
The nomination process may vary depending on the project and institutional workflow. The formal nomination of a student to the partner institution must be carried out within the institutional process determined by the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator; independent nominations via personal email should not be processed. All nomination processes are handled centrally by the Coordinator.
What should the department coordinator check in the Learning Agreement (LA – OLA)?
The coordinator should check the academic compatibility of the selected courses with the student's program, the credit load, the recognition plan, and the academic justification for any changes made during the mobility period.
How many ECTS credits should I take during my learning mobility program?
According to Article 25/1 of the Sivas Cumhuriyet University Associate and Undergraduate Education, Teaching and Examination Regulations, the course load for a semester in long-term learning mobility cannot be less than 30 ECTS credits. In accordance with the Higher Education Council's Bologna Framework, ECHE compliance rules, and the internal regulations of the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator, a semester must consist of exactly 30 ECTS credits. The total credits for courses taken and recognized at both the sending (home) and receiving (host) higher education institutions must be 30 ECTS for each university. The academic suitability and recognition method of the courses must be determined on the Learning Agreement prior to the mobility.
What is learning mobility?
Learning mobility is when a student completes part of their studies at a higher education institution abroad that has an Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement with Sivas Cumhuriyet University.
Do I have to find the exact same courses at the other university as the ones in my department?
A one-to-one course name match is not always possible. The key is for a suitable course plan, in terms of learning outcomes and academic program, to be approved by the relevant academic coordinator and for the recognition plan to be determined prior to the mobility period.
