A University with a Republican Legacy
Sivas Cumhuriyet University was established as part of the initiatives marking the 50th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and has developed into a comprehensive university serving students, researchers and society.
The establishment of a university in Sivas was one of the projects associated with the 50th anniversary of the Republic. The legal process began in 1973 and the University was formally established in 1974.
Beginning its academic development with the Faculty of Medicine, the University has grown substantially over the decades and today encompasses a broad range of disciplines including health sciences, engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, education, law, communication, arts, technology, tourism and veterinary medicine.
The name Sivas Cumhuriyet University reflects both its location and its historical connection with the Republic of Türkiye.
